My Seafaring Ways

1.
There's an ocean waiting to be swum in.
Picture yourself bobbing atop foam and froth.
Zoom out further. What do you see?
Spiderwebs, labyrinths, constellations.

2.
The gods loom too heavily on the horizon.
How can we escape them?
All one can do is devour
ash berries and pray
for some kind of transcendence.

3.
Hold my hand. If you wish to take it.
Struggle through the oncoming fog
for it heralds a magnificent storm.
But stick around, the calm afterward
will be well worth the price of admission.

I wrote this poem in July and forgot about it. Do you think it's salvageable? G
